  1. Funny how for all their expertise in matters of Rugby laws and refereeing I have seen no AB [not one] call Read's foul barging into the man in the air – and the fact the Video ref ignored it despite the ref asking about it. Free the other way imho. Imagine if the Lions pulled that stunt there would be all in a huff re bad refereeing – what happens after that initial foul is irrelevant [if you ignore the part where Read is beamed into the Lions half] –

  2. Ireland and the Lions won against the AB's recently. WITH NZ coaches/managers. Maybe not if they had British/Irish managers.

  3. The ABs butchered at least two tries, Barrett missed five point and the match drawn. Last week nine point missed game lost. The ABs gifted the Lions a drawn series.

  4. I wonder why they chose to run for the line as oppose to getting through phases ball in hand with the chance to score a possible penalty or each phase get's them closer to the try line

  5. NZ should have won this game but lets be honest, any rugby fan knows they are nowhere near as good as the 2015 team. I was ridiculed by Kiwi fans pre Lions tour for saying that their goal kicking will cost them test matches. It will cost them tests in the northern hemisphere when the conditions are wet/windy. They will still blow away any side on a dry still day IMO but the goal kicking needs to get sorted if they are to reach the heights of 2015 team. Tbf, any side that loses players like Carter and McCaw would notice it.

  6. Paul mulryne spot on mate from another England fan, what is embarrassing is some of the sad sack comments from people who have nothing better to do than dish out abuse.

  7. Was offside ! What a stupid refree ! Should be kick penalty for Allblacks not scrum , bullshit refree !

  8. This the way things went down in the biggest rugby match this year: "Viewers could hear the conversations between Poite and his other assistant Jaco Peyper and television match official George Ayoub, both of whom agreed with Poite that Ken Owens' handling of the ball while offside was a penalty offence, but not that of Poite and Garces.

Two words – "Oui, Jerome" – an indication that Poite could hear Garces, was all that we were privy to. Garces had clearly muted his microphone so that only Poite could hear him, and then Poite reciprocated – an unorthodox way of officiating to say the least.

One viewer emailed the Herald today saying: "Clearly, the 20-second monologue from Garces was enough for Poite to make the monumental decision to change his mind and come up with a "deal" of all things. Who does that?"

  9. Got to give the Lions credit they were awesome beating the Great NZ Allblacks at Wellington and drawing at Eden Park fortress incredible game I'am sure every rugby fan enjoyed .

  10. "This thread is a good example of the 2 sides of NZ fans. Starts off with Tumeke showing the friendliness that used to characterise Kiwi fans, and finishes with Virgilio showing the whinging conceit which is giving them such a bad rep in recent years. Such a shame." @BadgerOfDeath. The rubbish you've written above just goes to show how stupid you really are mate. You're obviously a rugby league supporter where this standard of refereeing is the norm. This series is international rugby played at the very highest level and to have a match, let alone a series decided by such refereeing incompetence and ineptitude is a joke. It's got nothing whatsoever to do with being a New Zealand All Blacks supporter. All Kiwis know that the All Blacks bombed a number of try scoring opportunities in the first half which would have put the Lions away so they only have themselves to blame for the loss .But that's not the issue here. The issue here is making sure that the highest levels of this code are controlled by officials with the highest levels of refereeing competence. I would be saying exactly the same thing if it were the Wallabies or even the Springboks on the receiving end of this type of crap refereeing. The NRL, which is obviously what you watch, is based on this type of refereeing whereby they make the rules up as the match goes along and I for one don't want to see rugby go down the same road. So BadgerOf Death pull your head out of your backside, wake up to yourself and learn the rules of the game. This is rugby union, not rugby league.

  11. Should have a penalty against Kieran Reid at the end there .He came charging in like bull on heat with no chance of getting near the ball , took Williams in the air in my opinion. The debate continues. Great game though no quarter given by both teams.

  12. thankyou for doing this, I thought I had missed this great game. Very grateful. PBW
